This position is the first point of contact for parents and coaches in Recreational Soccer at the 4U–5U age group. These co-ed age groups have been a steadily growing part of the club. Your job is to recruit first-time coaches, form teams, answer parent questions, and resolve problems. You partner with the EVP Lower Division, Registrar, and other Recreational VPs to help get each season off to a great start. There is big emphasis on encouraging and supporting parents to step up and coach who have no previous playing or coaching experience. The perfect person for this position is someone who is responsive via email, able to problem solve, and an effective communicator via email. You are an energetic and welcoming presence to parents and players who are trying organized soccer for the first time. You are the voice of the league to your parents and coaches, and you care about their playing experience at PAYSL. You always strive to provide the highest quality soccer experience for your age groups. All board positions are expected to attend the monthly board meetings (in-person or virtually) and also required to serve 3-5 shifts per season as an Officer on Duty at the fields on game days (training provided). Soccer coaching or playing experience is a bonus, but not required. We need people with all kinds of different skills to run a quality, well-organized club. Board members may receive discounted player registration as a “thank you” for their service.
