ACADEMY FAQS
-
Each May following the end of one seasonal year, players who wish to play in Academy the following year are evaluated based on their skill level and placed on teams.
All players who register for and attend the annual Team Placement event in May will be placed on a team for the following year. We will hold supplemental observation events throughout the summer and into the start of the next season for players who missed the initial event. We will continue to add players to the program if there is an open roster spot on a team of that player’s level.
We will also create new/additional teams after the initial placement event if we have the available field space and staff to accommodate them. However, this can not be guaranteed.
-
Pflugerville FC’s Director of Coaching (DOC), the Academy Director, and other professional coaching staff will determine where each player is placed.
-
All Pflugerville FC Academy and Jr Academy players will participate in league play for both the Fall and Spring seasons. Some of our higher level teams will also train at an indoor facility over the Winter off-season with the possibility of participation in an indoor league as well. Details for each team will be in your invitation to join.
Fall season begins mid-August and ends mid-November for Fall break.
Winter training begins early December and ends mid-February with a two-week Winter break.
Spring season begins mid-February and ends the early May with a week off for Spring break.
-
Most Academy teams practice 2 days per week either on Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday.
** For our top U10 teams, if they are playing up into the Select WDDOA league early, they will practice 3 days per week. Details will be in your invitation.
Please see our Fields page for possible training locations.
-
To register for the PFC Academy program you must first attending our regular Player Placement Events in May, or one of our supplemental tryout sessions. Once your child has been observed, and if there is a roster spot available on a team that matches their skill level, you will be sent the invitation to register for the program and purchase a custom uniform kit.
Pflugerville FC is excited to announce that for all future programming, we will be using PlayMetrics to manage all club functions including program registrations, team schedules, club-wide communication, player IDPs, and more! In order to register for any programs or events, you will need to create an account. For help with this process, please use these quick start guides in English or Spanish.
-
Once you register your player, you will need to order their uniform kit (unless they are a returning player in the middle of a uniform cycle). You will also need to follow all instructions in your invitation for joining the team’s communication group. This is where ALL communication from the coach and club leadership will be delivered to parents.

Financial assistance may be available to you if you qualify. Please visit our Financial Aid page for information on our program, other scholarships and grants that we honor, and deadlines to apply!
