SOCCER FUNDAMENTALS WITH A FOCUS ON FUN

About Our Rec Program

The PAYSL Recreational Soccer Program is all about fun, learning, and a love for the game. It's designed for younger players just starting out and for older kids who want to keep playing in a low-pressure, less-competitive setting.

For players 8U and younger, we don’t keep score or track standings—because it’s not about winning, it’s about playing. Every player gets equal time on the field and a chance to try different positions.

Our goal is simple: help kids build confidence, learn the basics of soccer, and have a great time doing it. By keeping the experience positive and inclusive, we hope to spark a lifelong love for the game.

PRACTICES

The amount of practice time per week will depend on your player’s age. Your team’s coach will decide when and where your team practices. Our recommendations are as follows:

  • 4U–6U: practice once per week for about 45 minutes

  • 7U-8U: practice one or two times per week for about an hour

  • 9U and above: practice twice a week for an hour

WHEN WILL MY CHILD’S TEAM PRACTICE?

PAYSL is a 100% volunteer organization from the Board to the coaches. Since the coaches are giving their time, they each decide what day, time and where their teams practice. Unfortunately, we cannot provide you with this information until you have registered your children and we have placed them on a roster with a coach. We’re always looking for volunteers, and the best way to know that the practice times will fit your schedule is to be the coach! You can register to coach here. In the end, if your team’s practice time ends up being a problem, contact your age group VP for assistance.
